Moscow - CMS Russia, a leading international law firm, announces the appointment of Valeriy Fedoreev as a partner of the employment and sports practices.
Valeriy will lead the employment practice of CMS and the rapidly growing sports law practice. Valeriy has 12 years of experience working in the Russian legal services market, including his work as a partner with another international law firm and as Executive Director with one of the major football clubs in Russia.
Valeriy’s area of professional practice covers various matters of employment and sports law. In the area of employment law, he specialises in labour disputes, employment relations with top managers and labour aspects of business restructuring transactions. In the area of sports law, Valeriy’s expertise includes transfers of players, entry into and termination of employment agreements with sportsmen and coaches, legal due diligence on sports clubs, representation of sports organisations, clubs, players and coaches before Russian and international sports federations as well as before sports jurisdictional bodies and courts.
Valeriy’s experience also includes acting for such international and Russian companies as Goldman Sachs, Wal-Mart, HSBC, Sony Music, Abbott, Schering Plough, TNK-BP, MTS, RusHydro, FC “Spartak-Moscow”, FC “Alania”, HC “Spartak” (Moscow) and the ANO "Organizing Committee of the United Football League" as well as a number of well-known Russian and foreign coaches and players.
