CMS Russia, one of the leading international law firms, announces the appointments of Anton Bankovskiy, Head of Intellectual Property, as a partner and Vsevolod Tyupa, Head of Lifesciences, as a counsel of the Moscow office of CMS.
Anton Bankovskiy joined CMS in 2012 as a counsel from another well-known international law firm. He advises on all aspects of intellectual property in Russia and other CIS countries and is admitted to represent clients before the Russian PTO, the Chamber for Patent and Trademark Disputes under the Russian PTO and Russian courts. He advises clients from a variety of industries, including technology, media and communications, energy, lifesciences and others. Anton is ranked as one of the leading legal practitioners in Russia by Chambers & Partners and Best Lawyers International.
Leonid Zubarev, Senior Partner of CMS Russia, comments on the promotion: “We are pleased to announce Anton Bankovskiy becoming a partner of our company. Anton is a well-known professional both within and outside our company, a view that is particularly underscored by his recent election as the Chairman of the Intellectual Property Committee of the Association of European Businesses."
“This appointment also underlines the growing importance of intellectual property and its legal regulation both in Russia in general and in legal business in particular. The practice of CMS Russia, led by Anton Bankovskiy, has shown good opportunities and growth prospects, even in the current challenging economic situation in Russia,” he added.
Vsevolod Tyupa has been with CMS Russia since 2011 advising pharmaceutical market leaders on all aspects of their operations in the country, ranging from international companies’ entry into the Russian market to distribution contracts, clinical trials, promotion of medical products, interactions with HCPs, public procurement and anticorruption and competition law issues.
Before joining CMS, Vsevolod worked for Roche, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. This experience has made him a unique industry lawyer who really understands clients’ needs and specificity of operations in this sector. He is a recommended lawyer by Chambers Europe, which ranked him second in 2015 and 2016 directories. He is a frequent speaker at various events in the pharmaceutical field.
“Traditionally, the pharmaceutical market is one of the most promising and capacious in Russia and it is also relatively stable, despite the ongoing political and economic volatilities. Moreover, this sector is of the utmost importance in implementing the country’s healthcare development strategy. Under guidance of Vsevolod, CMS holds a leading position in provision of legal services on this market and I am confident that in this new role his experience and leadership skills will open up new opportunities for business", says Leonid Zubarev.
